A Tribute to Kenny Kirkland - Sting - Bring On The Night - Montreux 1985 - in a 70's retro version:
Hello to all fans of Sting and Kenny Kirkland.
Please read my notes about this song carefully:
My favorite music by Sting is the Montreux Jazz Festival 1985 version of the song: 'Bring on the night (When the world is running down you make the best of whats still around)'.
Since I also play piano and compose music for a long time, I decided to create a music track, which combines both this song and also the playing of Miles Davis (yes - poorly!).
The 'Miles Davis' trumpet parts mainly represent the voice parts from Sting - similar to Miles Davis' play for his cover version from Cindy Lauper!
Please note: I am not in the situation to create realistic muted trumpet sounds which would fit better to this track. Listen to the notes - NOT to the sound!
And ... NO, I do not want to rape the music of your 'holy idol' Miles Davis!
Feel free to create or arrange your own music!
This music arrangement I created in 2003, and spent about 150 hours on it (you will know why when you hear the Rhodes Piano Solo - initially played by Kenny Kirkland on an electric grand piano - Yamaha CP70/80 or whatever).
His solo starts at 4:32 and is almost 3 minutes long!
